Austria – Semmering

The IPA-EPF European Psychoanalytic Institute (EPI), named after Han Groen Prakken, held its 1st Annual Integration School in Iseo (Italy) from the 8th till 14th of November.  The School, which theme was “Analytic Field and Analytic Forest: Paths and Impasses in the Psychoanalytic Process”, was organized together with the Italian Psychoanalytic Society in collaboration with the Italian Psychoanalytic Association. The School brought together for 6 days 130 participants –  more than 70 EPI candidates, as well as candidates and members from East and West European Societies and Study Groups, for an extremely rich and intense program with 5 plenary papers by Stefano Bolognini, Serge Frisch,  Jorge Canestri, Antonino Ferro and Adelaide Lupinacci, invited discussions, small clinical and theoretical  groups, workshops given by Giuseppe Civitarese and Graziano De Giorgio, and a number of interesting cultural events.  Almost 30 teachers of the School were representatives of different countries and of various psychoanalytic cultures. The School, warmly hosted by Italian colleagues, was a remarkable, mutually enriching and bridge building experience for the EPI students and faculty, candidates and members from different European countries.

The next EPI  annual School,open also to candidates and members of Western and Eastern European Study Groups and Societies,  will  take place in 2016 in Austria, Semmerling, hotel “Panhans”, 18th – 24th September 2016.  Arrival – Sunday afternoon, September 18th;  departure – Saturday morning, September 24th.
